SESKO TNI: Formulating Indonesia's Military Contingency Plan

SESKO TNI (the Indonesian National Armed Forces Command and Staff College) is a historic institution that has produced highly influential Indonesian military elites and shaped strategic discourse in the archipelago.

It represents the highest level of professional military education in Indonesia and operates under the direct command of the "Panglima TNI" (Commander-in-Chief).

I felt honoured to be invited to speak at SESKO TNI, contributing my perspective to a panel discussion on “Strategi Kontingensi TNI: Antisipasi Dinamika Ancaman dan Perlindungan Kedaulatan NKRI” (TNI Contingency Strategy: Anticipating Threat Dynamics and Protecting the Sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia).

Speaking before cohort LVI (“Strong”) and the teaching staff, I drew lessons from three Asian case studies: China, Japan, and Taiwan.

These examples provide valuable insights for Indonesia as it designs an effective crisis management system and civil-military fusion arrangement.
